Granite

Granite is a hard, dense rock valued for its strength and durability. We quarry it in Ogun State, crush it to the sizes you need, and supply it across the region.

The stone

What granite is

Granite is an igneous rock, formed when molten rock cools slowly deep underground. It is made of interlocking crystals, mainly quartz and feldspar, often with mica.

That structure makes it hard, dense and resistant to weathering. It is why granite holds up under heavy loads, traffic and harsh conditions.

Key properties

  • Strong

Interlocking crystals give granite high crushing strength, so it carries heavy loads.

  • Durable

It resists weathering and wear, so it lasts in demanding conditions.

  • Angular when crushed

Crushed granite has sharp faces that lock together, which makes stable layers under roads and rail.

Uses

Where granite is used

  • Concrete aggregate

Strong, durable stone for structural concrete.

  • Road construction

Used in road bases and surfacing, where it resists wear from traffic.

  • Railway ballast

The angular stone that supports railway tracks and lets water drain away.

  • Drainage and filter stone

Placed around pipes and in drains, where water has to pass through stone.

  • Erosion control

Larger stone protects riverbanks, coastlines and embankments.

  • Foundations and landscaping

Used under foundations, behind retaining walls and in landscaping.
